ARCHITECTURE WITH PLASTIC?

/
The Trash Zero project aims to develop and guide the current unrecognized issue of plastic waste in Cambodia. As an individual living in Cambodia for around 13 years, it has come to my attention that many of the locals are not aware of how to reduce their uses of plastic in their households, or aware that plastic is not biodegradable, and therefore can harm the natural environment here.

Going Green with Hydroponics

In the current climate, there are several issues our team identified and wanted to tackle with our project! Firstly, due to global warming, fresh water is becoming a scarcity and, in our region 70% of the water is used by the agriculture sector (often ineffectively). Furthermore, we noticed that habitats of at-risk wildlife were being destroyed and used for field farming, our region also suffers from air pollution (propelled by the lack of greenery) and, lastly, the agriculture sector produces 20 billion tons of food waste yearly (much still usable), despite thousands of people going hungry.

Creating a clean lifecycle for plastic

Plastic pollution has recently come to be one of the most critical complications and a major issue regarding environment cleanliness. When observing our environment, it is even visible to us as individuals how much we are surrounded by the accumulating amount of plastic waste. Be it finding a fish with a bottle cap stuck to its mouth or birds trying to consume plastic, every one of us has experienced first-hand the harm plastic pollution has inflicted on the wildlife.

An eco-friendly plastic

/
The idea of my project arises from the need to reduce pollution because this is one of the main contributors to climate change. My project basically consists of 3 phases. The first is to create eco-bricks with inorganic garbage to build houses or small sofas for people with limited resources.

Life-changing experience

Recently I have done my first program called GSL world catalyst @home, due to the fact of the current pandemic situation the session was all done online via zoom at our own place. It was so interesting and inspiring at the same time to join and connect with global citizens around the world. With the same ambitious goal, we soon start our journey on the same boat.

Let’s Levitate for a secure future

One day, I was sitting on my couch watching the news and got shocked when the reporter hailed 'Climate crisis is an existential crisis!' The word existential hit me really hard that I started educating myself about climate change. I realised that Asia (the continent where I lived) lies in the MAPA (Most Affected People and Areas) region.

Recycle The World: Be the Voice of the Earth

/
Our goal in this project is to create awareness about recycling all types of recyclable wastes and medical wastes, increasing the recycling skills of our country, Turkey. At the same time, we are working on finding the best possible way of recycling habits to integrate into our lives. This way we were able to spread the importance of recycling for our world and continue recycling lifelong while contributing to nature.

The Green Game

We are the Elec-trick-ators and we are striving to develop a solution to some of the world's greatest challenges through the Sustainable Development Goals. We aim to produce electrical energy by processing waste materials through the Hydro-wheel project.
